The Medicare Fact sheet regarding Substance Abuse Structured Assessment and Brief Intervnetion (SBIRT) has been revised.  This publication provides education on SBIRT, an early intervention approach that targets those with nondependent substance use, in order to provide effective strategies for intervention prior to the need for more extensive or specialized treatment.
